In this paper complex examination on a broad resource basis has been given for the first time to the process of resettlement of Ukrainians to the USA and Canada after World War II in the framework of solving the international problem of refugees and displaced persons. Historical and interdisciplinary methods are used to demonstrate the interconnection between reasons and factors that caused mass migrations of Ukrainians to the West during the war and first past-war years, different approaches of winner-countries to solving it and the very resettlement to North American countries, its peculiarities and consequences. The topic is addressed on the intersection of several historical disciplines: history of international relations, military history, as well as national history of Ukraine, the USA, Canada, Germany and Austria.
