Essay

The effect of carbon and manganese on thermal expansion of Invar f.c.c Fe-Ni alloys was investigated. As established, carbon and carbon in the combination with the impurity of Mn in the alloys containing nearby 30% Nі decreases TEC in the temperatures range of 110-380 K. As shown, the impurity of Mn up to 1% does not worse Invar properties of the Fe-Ni-Mn-C alloys. It is found, that the carbon decreases interatomic interaction and results in the formation of inhomogeneities of magnetic structure in the Fe-Nі-C alloys.
