Essay

The object of our investigation is the raising of young cattle on the farms located in the third zone of radioactive pollution. The goal of the work is to define the morphofunctional state of animals' red bone marrow. The methods of the investigation are as follows: clinicoanatomical, radiological, hematological, histological, cytological, histochemical, morphometrical, statistical by means of necessary reagents and devices which have come through proper standardization. The scientific novelty: it has been studied the morphofunctional state of red bone marrow of young cattle at different age, raised on the territory with radionuclide pollution and the absolute and relative morphological indices of red bone marrow have been stated. Some indices of natural resistance (quantity of T- and B-lymphocytes, level of bactericide and lysozyme activity of blood serum) in young cattle have been turned out. The correlation between the changes of hematological indices and the changes of morphofunctional state of redbone marrow in aniamals raised on the territories with radionuclide pollution has been shown. The results of investigation have been introduced into educational process and into scientific investigations at the departments of Anatomy, Histology and Pathological Anatomy of some higher schools in Ukraine. They also may be used for the working out of treatment-and-prophylactic measures as to young cattle that is raised under the conditions of constant action of little doses of radiation. Field - veterinary medicine.
