Essay

The object is liquid alloys of Co-Ti, Co-Zr, Co-Hf, Ni-Ti, Ni-Zr, Ni-Hf, Cu-Ti, Cu-Zr, Cu-Hf systems. The aim is study of temperature and concentration dependencies of mixing enthalpies and to build thermodynamic properties models of liquid alloys and to use obtained models to forecast concentration ranges of amorphization. Methods are high temperature heat-flux calorimetry, ideal associated solution model and CALPHAD method. The novelty lies in for the first time experimentally investigated formation enthalpies of liquid Co-Hf alloys and temperature dependencies of formation enthalpies of liquid alloys of Cu-Ti and Cu-Zr systems; in frames of the associated solution model are described temperature and concentration dependencies of thermodynamic properties of liquid alloys; are calculated metastable phase diagrams with participation of undercooled liquid and amorphous phases. The field is the physical chemistry of metallic melts.
