Investigation objects: dissolution of aluminium and its alloys process in water and water-alcohol hydroxide solutions. the mechanism of the dissolution and passivation of aluminium and its alloys ascertainment in water and water-alcohol solutions of strong bases and investigations of the processes on the boundary metal-solution. Methods: gravimetry, volumometry, spectrofotometry, polarization investigations in different regimes; local temperature effects measurements. It was found out, that reaction has many stages, it passes through the surface oxygen compounds formation with predominant cathode control. The change of anode reaction limitative stage takes place with transition from dilute to concentrated NaOH solutions. Dissolution of aluminium and its alloys reaction Kinetics was stipulated by interparticle interactions, which take place in solution volume Degree of application: The obtained data allowed to optimize the etching solution composition, which is used for aliminium and its alloys contouretching. The base electrolyte composition for alkaline power sources with aluminium anode was offered.
