Essay

Research objects: potential fruitfulness formation of Kokur bilyi variety. Research objective: investigation of potential fruitfulness formation over the vegetation period and of the effects of pruning severity on its realization and yield formation. Methods: conventional methods to investigate central bud potential fruitfulness in native grape varieties of Crimea. Theoretical and practical results: central bud fruitfulness of 26 native grape varieties of the Crimea in different regions and under different conditions of cultivation has been determined, which may be used to determine optimum prun-ing severity for those varieties. Novelty: principal regularities governing forma-tion and realization of central bud potential fruit-fulness in Kokur bilyi variety cultivated in the mountainous-valley region of the Crimea have been established; genotypic potentials of Kokur belyi variety have been determined; the effect of fruit cane pruning severity on the weight of one-year’s terminal shoots has been established; re-gression equations to predict yield formation in Kokur bilyi variety have been developed. Implementation degree: optimized pruning sever-ity has been applied in Kokur bilyi variety on the state farm “Sudak” on an area of 10 ha. Effectiveness: implementation of the recommen-dations suggested in 2001 2002 has led to an economical benefit of 965.7 hrn. per ha. Sphere, branch of use: agriculture, viticulture.
