Holodnykh A. The structure of sedimentary mantle of the Dnieper-Donets basin, up to the depth of 7000 m (its relation to petroleum potential)

The work is on study of structure-tectonik peculiarities of the sedimentary mantle of the DDB, up to the depth of 7000 m. On the basis of the analysis of geologic maps of section minus 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 m to the scale of 1:200 000, which are the foundation for a new quantitative estimation of hydrocarbon resources of the DDB, and other structural-geological constructions the questions of the structure and conditions of formation and relations between structures of II-III order are considered, the tectonic zonation of the Dnieper graben is made more precise and also are defined perspectives of oil and gas bearing at determined different intervals of the depths in the DDB. On the base of studies carried out inversion of asymmetry of the sedimentary mantle of the Dnieper graben has been established. The classification of prominences of the basement. with respect to their relations with structure plans of the sedimentary mantle is offered. Questions of influence of halokinesis upon the conditions of forming III order structures in different parts of the region are considered. Six transverse subzones have been singled out in slope zones of the DDB. On the base of obtained results perspective localities for detailed seismic prospecting and for parametric drilling are proposed.
