The dissertation is dedicated to the study of the social-psychological factors of the formation of a production manager. The dissertation gives an account of the results of the experimental research into the development of such manager's qualities as: motives, value orientations, communicative characteristics, work and own administrative growth satisfaction. Influence of these characteristics dynamics on the optimization of the professional development is studied. On the basis of the investigation results the role of the social-psychological support as the main factor determining the optimization of a manager's formation is confirmed. The social-psychological model of a production manager formation is presented.
