Dmytrenko O. Estimation of the structural-functional state of the osseous tissue in the human subjects of different age and sex.

This work is dealing with the diagnosis of osteoporosis in the human subjects of the different age and sex. The methods used include: a roentgen-osteo-densitometry and an anthropometry. The goal has been to propose measures enabling to prevent the osteoporosis progression and its complications onset. Based on the results obtained, a new approach to estimating the bone tissue structural-functional state has been proposed, and this method has been approved by the Patent Agency of Ukraine. The author has created the normative base of the roentgen-osteo-densitometry indexes for a Ukrainian population. The anthropometric indexes, influencing the bone tissue structural-functional state in the individuals of different age and sex, have been determined. There has been formulated the "anthropometric portrait of a patient" with an osteoporosis and his complications. Finally, the author has developed the diagnostic algorithm for estimating the bone tissue status as well as for assessing the groups of people atrisk of the osteoporosis onset, with the use of methods of the roentgen-osteo-densitometry and anthropometry.
