Essay

The theory of magnetic linear birefringence of sound in trigonal easy-plane antiferromagnet FeBO3 is constructed taking into account uniaxial non-uniform magnetic anisotropy in the basal plane of the crystal induced by experimental boundary conditions. Taking into account acoustic wave re-reflection from boundaries of crystal blocks in iron borate in the context of the advanced theory made it possible to describe adequately experimental features.
