Essay

The mechanism of insertion of fluorine molecules and lithium ions into the crystalline structure of the layered crystals АIIIВVI and АV(2)ВVI(3) is investigated. The crystalline structure of the obtained intercalates and their electrical properties are established as well as the optimum conditions for preparation of cathodes based on layered InSe, GaSe, Bi2Se3 and Bi2Te3 compounds for lithium power sources are - determined. Specific characteristics of lithium power sources are improved by thermally-exposed intercalation of the cathode materials with molecular fluorine vapour.
