Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the problem of polishing flat surfaces of workpieces of stones and ornamental glassceramics by bonded abrasive tools of aluminum and ceric oxides based. For evaluation of the impact of the workpiece chemical composition on productivity of polishing, it is proposed to use the workpiece moduli of activity and lime. The value of the moduli product is shown to define the productivity of polishing. The procedure has been developed of calculation of the optimal design of the tool working layers in terns of uniformity of wear. It is shown that productivity of polishing workpieces is inversely proportional to squared thickness of the lubricating and cooling liquid layer. A criterion for the determination of maximum permissible parameters of polishing has been suggested. The recommendations for applications of tools for finishing flat surfaces of workpieces of stones and ornamental glassceramics have been developed.
