The dissertation on competition of a scientific degree of the candidate technical sciences on speciality 05.03.01 - Machining processes, machine-tools and instruments. - V.N.Bakul Institute for Superhard Materials of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2004. The dissertation is devoted to the decision of a urgent scientific problem - improvement of finish machining process and surface hardnening of high strength spheroidal grafite cast iron parts. With this aim in view is designed the method of blade-hardnening machining of high-strength cast iron part by hard-carbide and superhard material tools. The next diamond burnishing reduce roughness surface of cast iron parts. As a result of multifactorial experiments the effect has been established of the structure and properties of cast iron and operating conditions on the qualitative parameters of surface layer during blade-hardnening machining of high-strength cast iron part. The calculated dependence of cutting tool life from high strengthcast iron hardness with different metal matrix structure was received. Based on the results of the researches, practical recommendation have been made as to the use of the suggested technology of the blade-hardnening machining of high-strength cast iron part.
