Regularities of individual and simultaneous influence of copper (II) and manganese (II) ions on photosynthesis, respiration, content of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoids in the submersed higher aquatic plants and green filamentous algae have been established. Accumulation of copper and manganese ions by the macrophytes has been studied. The effective species-biomonitors have been proposed, the method for water toxicity estimation with use of photosynthesis and respiration as test-functions has been worked out.
