The dissertation is devoted to perfection of adjustable-speed electric drives with current source converters due to use in them of specially designed adjustable-speed induction motors that allows to lower essentially their weight, dimensions, cost, to improve power parameters, dynamic and adjusting properties. With this purpose, according to the system approach, the complex design mathematical models including models of all components of adjustable electric drives are developed. Complex mathematical models enable to analyse electromagnetic, electromechanical, power, thermal processes both in established, and in transitive operating modes of motor. Essential specification of the analysis is achieved with use instead of traditional models of converters of the models synthesized by OrCAD software for emulation of electronic circuits. Optimum designing is carried out on the basis of the multiple analysis. Diapason design criteria, functional parameters and design restrictions are offered. The techniqueandthe software of the automated choice of serial general- purpose induction motors for systems adjustable-speed drives with current source converters is developed. Software complexes for the analysis, designing and optimisation of adjustable-speed induction motors were used for performance of some projects. In result the opportunity of essential perfection electric drives is confirmed due to application special adjustable-speed induction motors.
