Essay

Thesis is devoted to the development and implementation of the new methods of synthesis of signature monitoring units providing more effective diagnostic experiment into self-testing systems on chip and microcontrollers/ The main goal of these techniques is to minimize the cost of diagnostic means. New methods of test pattern generators design for pseudoexhaustive testing based on using Linear and Nonlinear Feedback Shift Registers are presented. Newly-developed algorithmic procedures make it possible to design generator modules for given (n,m,k) combinatorial circuits witn minimal hardware overheads. The study of one-dimensional cellular automata exhibiting group properties for design generators for pseudorandom testing logic circuits is presented. It has been shown how hybrid additive rules can be represented by means of characteristic matrix, representing cellular automata. The method of transformation of arbitrary finite state machine into easy testable one, adding one input symbol is proposed. Thismethod allows to design signature analyzers and test control units with minimal length distinguishing sequence and hardware overheads.
