Essay

The values of vibrational frequencies, heat capacity and the elastic moduli of the carbon nanotubes of different chirality were calculated. It is shown that nanotubes with the chirality m-n indices multiple three do not have the forbidden band in electronic spectra, the remaining have. The value of linear and nonlinear optical polarizability for the carbon nanotubes of different geometry (chirality, length, capped/uncapped) is calculated within the framework of Su-Schrieffer-Heager model.
