Essay

Research subjects: glandular structures of species and interspecies hybrids of mint.Research objectives: investigation of structural and functional peculiarities of secretory processes of mints interspecies hybrids (M.aquatica L. х M.canadensis L ) with different oil-production.Methods: anatomical, morphological, karyometrical, cytometrical, cytochemical and interferometrical analysis of cells.Theoretical and practical results: It's determined that high oil-producing mints genotypes differ from low oil-producing ones in high density of essential oil glands within a leaf, enlarged secretory cells and the enlarged nucleus and nucleolus of secretory cells of the essential oil glands.Secretory cells of essential oil glands mainly contain diploid number of DNA (2C) within the nucleus and differ from common cells of leaf-epidermis in increased recondensation of chromatin and it's functioning in respect of RNA synthesis. Along with it, the secretory cells with multiplied DNA (4C) that high oil-producing genotype mainly contains were found. Increase of dry mass of nucleolus of high oil-concentrating genotypes is an evidence for increased RNA contain and more active albumen. Novelty of introduced: On the basis of proposed scheme of high parameter differentiation of oil-productivity the model of multitude regression that allows density of essential-oil glands within the leaf-surface and nucleolus volume of secretory cells at the stage before essential oil secretion was calculated. Implementation degree: this model was used in practice to estimate obtained mint hybrids which are introduced into production. The results of investigation were used for specialists training in the universities of the Crimea.Effectiveness: scientific background of the method of the estimate mint hybrids allow to intensify the selections process Sphere, sector of implementation: selection of essential oils plants, cytology of plants, specialists training.
