Ravlyuk I. Selective principles of fir forests reproduction on the Northern mega-slope of the Ukrainian Carpathians

The object is the fir forests, their genetic resources for needs of artificial and natural forests reproduction. The aim is studying of contemporary condition and structure of fir forests at the North megaslope of Ukrainian Carpathian mountains, to found the ways of forests reproduction improvement through using of selected seeds material. Methods of comparative ecology, which are standard in forest selection, forestry and forest taxation. Results: peculiarities of natural and artificial forests regenerations, population variability, selection & forming structure and genetic resources were studied, the features of vegetative propagation and creation of clone plantations were found out, clones comparative characteristics according florification and seed-bearing were determined, the most perspective of them were recommended for creation of the 2nd order plantations. The sort of white spruce "Kolomyjskaya" was breeded and included in State list of plant's sorts of Ukraine. The results of research are thecomponent of practical recommendations on improving and generation of fir forests of the region and selectional & seeding programs of selection, conservation and rational use of their genetic resources. The application degree: the results of investigations are applied in forestry enterprises of Ukrainian Carpathian mountains. The brunch of use is forestry.
