Essay

The thesis deals with investigation of the influence of dynamical and relaxation factors on an inelastic inter-electrode current formation through a short molecular wire with utilization of a jumping model and in condition of a strong Coulomb interaction between the transferring electrons. Analytical expression for a steady inter-electrode current through a molecular wire with an arbitrary number of sites is derived, and the current-voltage characteristics of the wire along with its current-length dependence have been investigated. A blocking effect of the inter-electrode current caused by a strong electron-electron cor-relation has been found for a short molecular wire. Additionally, an analytic dependence of the combined elastic and inelastic interelectrode current on the number of wire units is derived for the case where wire terminal sites play a role of donor and ac-ceptor centers.
