Hunchyk I. Ukrainian occasional-ritual folklore: structural-functional aspect.

The thesis analyses the texts of folk prayers, charms, exorcisms, invocations and other typologically relative units under the general title of occasional folklore. They are considered as a separate original genre of the Ukrainian ritual arts. Guided by the most important achievements in national and foreign study of folklore, the author examines invariant structure of these utilitarian - secret units, and the system of invariant appellative and explicative units (formulas) with and without plot is also defined in this work. The thesis also characterizes functional peculiarities of the Ukrainian occasional literary works on the level of chronotope, performer and addressee, within the paradigmatics of the ritual.
