Pylypchuk S. "The Halychyna Rus' folk proverbs and sayings" by Ivan Franko: paremiological and paremiographical aspects, text poetics.

The thesis is the first comprehensive research of the collection of "The Halychyna Rus' folk proverbs and sayings" compiled by Ivan Franko. The Franko's ideas on the issues of paremia generic differentiation and genesis, on the correlation of the international and the national within the genre are considered in the context of up-to-date theoretical investigations. There is determined the structure of methodological principles of registering and arrangement of paremia. Special attention is paid to the specific properties of semantics (primary and secondary) of paremia units and to the analysis of their functioning. There is performed a scrutiny of the figurative and expressive features of paremia based on the texts from the analyzed corpus.
