Essay

The object is rat brain synaptosomes. To investigate the mechanisms of neurotransmitter release from nerve terminals induced by alpha-latrotoxin from black widow spider venom in the presence and absence of extracellular Ca2+. Methods of preparative biochemistry, neurochemical membranology, radioisotopic. It was shown the participation of the two pools of GABA (vesicular and cytosolic) in the realisation of secretogenic action of a-latrotoxin. Toxin action is dependent on its concentration used: in high concentration it stimulated cytosolic GABA release much more effectively. For the first time the involvement of plasma membrane GABA transporter in latrotoxin-stimulated GABA release was demonstrated. Field: scientific and educational biological institutes
