Essay

The major goal of the research is a complex analysis of Ukrainian lullaby as a specific genre of "folklore for children". This way, the theoretical, methodological principles and the history of Ukrainian lullaby researching are regarded, the lullaby motifs analysis аre done and the functional significance is defined. Apart the non-verbal means, used in lullabies, are scrutinized. There is an attempt to compile the Thesaurus of Ukrainian lullabies. The sample thesaurus articles of Ukrainian lullaby characters and the main lullaby pragmems, the Cradle pragmeme in mith-poetics aspect, are analized.
