Salkov M. Diagnostic and surgical treatment of the nontraumaic cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea

The dissertation is devoted to the methods of diagnostic and to the surgical treatment of different types of nontraumatic rhinorrhea. We have examined and treated the 102 patients. The amount of patients with spontaneous rhinorrhea was 76 persons, with basal cerebral hernia - 13 patients, rhinorrhea in result of brain tumor occuried in 6 patients and rhinorrhea in result intracranial hypertension in 3 patients. The most important diagnostic method for the rhinorrhea is the cerebral cysternographia. Using this method we founded the origin of rhinorrhea in all the examined patients. We have offered the plastic of the cerebrospinal fluid fistula by endonasal and intracranial methods. Is the reason of rhinorrhea was the cerebral hernia of ethmoidal bone or the sphenoid sinus the rhinorrhea was treated by obliteration. We have analyzed the results of treatment from 1976 till 2005. It was not recurrence rhinorrhea in 82 the patients treated by surgical treatment
