Shevchuk A. Pathogenetic grounds of surgical treatment of degenerative-dystrophic lesions of sacrococcygeal articulation.

The analysis of complex clinical and roentgenologic, biochemical, histomorphologic, electronic microscopic investigations were presented in the thesis including treatment of patients with degenerative-dystrophic lesions of sacrococcygeal articulation. We have observed in patients various degree of dystrophic changes of chondrocytes down to atrophy and necrosis, destruction of basic substance with substitutions into fibrotic tissue accompanied by circulatory destruction and enchondral ossifications. Biochemical investigations revealed damage of glicosaminoglycanes metabolism. The differentiated approach to surgical treatment, including clinical and radial methods of investigation, have allowed to receive 86% of good results in patients.
