Essay

As established, the formation of a solid solution strongly depends on diffusion-contacts geometry. Comparison simulated with experimental results for ternary powder system Co-Fe-Ni demonstrates that the combination of enveloping model and divided couple is preferable. The best description for the formation of a solid solution in diffusion 75%Fe-25%Ni, 63%Cr-37%Ni and 80%Cr-20%Ni pair is obtained in terms of divided system model, for a powders mixtures 25%Fe-75%Ni and Co-Fe system - enveloping model.
