Taidi T. The Union of Black Klobuks (the Turkic tribes in Rus XI-XIII c.)

The dissertation is devoted to the history of the union of nomadic tribes “Black Klobuks”, which existed in Kievan Rus at XI-XIII c. The union appeared in Rus as result of invitation of the Turkic tribes to Russian service. The Torks were invited during the second half of 11th c. Later two other nomadic tribes joined the Torks, forming the union, which existed until the Mongol invasion. This research has the following goals: to study the reasons of the invitations of nomads to Russian service; to watch the main stages of the formation of the union; to study its role in the history of the Old Russian state. The work studies main functions of Black Klobuks in Rus, one of most important of them was struggle against Polovtsian; their social activity in Old Russian state.
