Essay

The dissertation work is dedicated to solution of an actual scientific and technical problem concerned to substantiation of choosing of fire extinguishing substances to perfect systems for fire protection of gas-compressor stations of trunk gas pipelines. Specific features of fire danger of the system of “turbine oil – turbine oil vapors – air” have been revealed at the temperature interval of 20 оC to 500 оC. Conditions for inerting of gas and air medium in a closed space containing such a system with carbon dioxide have been revealed. Technologies and conditions of application of fire extinguishing substances in the systems for fire protection of gas-compressor substances have been substantiated in order to substitute ones not meeting up-to-date ecological requirements..
