3.An object is the ontogenetic process of birch hanging, Ukrainian birch and Karelian birch. Purpose is finding out of descriptions of aborigines varieties and introduced species from the Betula genus and the estimation of possibilities of their use in forest phytocenosis of Ukrainian Polissya. The methods used are geobotanical, laboratory and analytical, calculation and statistical. Theoretical results - phytobiological features of Ukrainian birch as compared to a birch hanging and Karelian birch were set. Practical results - phenotypical markers signs for the selection of trees with the patterned decorative structure of wood in population of Ukrainian birch and Karelian birch were set. The novelty - the description of parameters of birch's varieties from the Betula L genus with the patterned texture of wood in Ukrainian Polissya were described and the natural growth of population of Betula pendula (verrucosa) var. ucrainica Litvak was exposed.
