Essay

The thesis containes the results analysis of investigation of kinetics of ethyl- and isopropylbenzene liquid phase oxidation with molecular oxygen in the presenсe of organic peroxides and ammonium salts. Quarternary ammonium halides mixed with peroxides compounds are the effective low - temperature initiation systems. Initiation ability of peroxide compounds in the presence of onium bromides decreases in the following sequence: benzoyl peroxide - lauroyl peroxide - dioxydicyclohexylperoxide. The effect of ammonium salt cation nature on the peroxide initiating ability is considerably lower than the anion effect. Benzoyl peroxide - ammonium salt system is effective at 283 - 323 K when traditional initiators do not accelerate the oxidation. Linear dependence of initiation rate upon difference between peroxide HOMO energy and tetraethylammonium bromide LUMO one has been established. Connection between initiation rate and complexed lauryl peroxide decomposition activation enthalpies obtained by quantum-chemical methods (AM1) has been estimated.
