Essay

The phenomena of the temperature dependence and time stability of the magnetic field induced strains in the off-stoichiometric Ni-Mn-Ga alloys with different martensite crystal lattice types have been investigated and revealed. The new type of the shape-memory effect is found - the magneto-thermal shape memory, which is due to the combined consecutive action of the magnetic field and temperature.
