Motah M. Diagnostics and surgical treatment of the cerebral III-rd ventricular posterior region tumors

The dissertation focuses on the problem of improving diagnosis and surgical treatment of tumors of the III-rd ventricular posterior region. Microtopographic varieties and clinical syndromes of the indicative tumors are analyzed in the work. It was established that the main clinical syndromes were hypertensive - hydrocephalic syndrome, brainstem disorders, cerebellum symptoms, and pupillary paralysis is the pathognomonic symptom for the tumors of the III-rd ventricular posterior region. Clinical aspect doesn't correlate with the tumor size. Complex preoperative diagnostics using computer tomography and magnetic resonance tomography were developed. Surgical approaches for the tumor extirpation were optimised through analysis of macro-microtopographic tumor peculiarities. Admissions and nonadmissions were developed for the surgical treatment of the patients with the III-rd ventricular posterior region tumors. The main results of this work are introduced in neurosurgical practice.
