Kurilov A. Planktonic ciliates of coastal zone and estuaries of the north-western part of the Black Sea

The dissertation is dedicated to study of coastal ciliatoplankton of the north-western Black Sea and some, the most important in economic attitude estuary and lagoons. In the manuscript reviewed literature data on modern conceptions about role of the ciliatoplankton in pelagic ecosystems of World Ocean. The main stages of the study ciliates in the Black sea and estuaries, observed for period from the second half XIX century to date. Ecological features of discovered species of ciliates (184 taxa of genus level, 142 species names) are given on the ground of own studies (1998 - 2003 y.). Their trophic specialization and distribution on dimensional scale has also represented. Vertical distribution and space-temporary variability of the quantitative development, qualitative composition and the main structural parameters of ciliatoplankton - species composition richness and diversity, trophic and size structure were studied. Assessment of production-decomposition features of planktonic ciliates of studied regions is given.
