Essay

There are presented results of the complex analysis of more than 100 plant species with different life-forms from the view point of their usage in phytodesign. An anatomical structure of leaves is considered as the diagnostic character for definition of the form and function of plants belonging to different ecological types at their adaptation to environment conditions. The comparative anatomical analysis of studied species of tropical and subtropical plants was conducted to find species most valuable for interiors. It was proved that the ratio of the contents of saccharoses and starch in leaves is the best indicator of shade resistance. The analysis of a functional condition of roots shows that the stimulation of development of plants was at usage of the ammonia forms of nitrogen and phosphorus, and the development of the thin rootlets serves as an index of optimization of the conditions for cultivation of introduced plants in interiors of different types. The species Aglaonema commutatum, Anthuriumandreanum, Diffenbachia maculata, Philodendron bipinnatifidum, Epipremnum pinnatum, Spathiphyllum blandum, Ficus benjamina, F.benjamina ‘Exotica’, F. benjamina ’Golden King’, F. еlastica, F. elastica ’Rubra’, F. pumila are characterized by highest phytoncidic capacity.
