Essay

The object of research: hand deformities after upper extremity nerves injuries in patients and disabled people. The purpose of work. Improvement of medical rehabilitation of patients and invalids with hand deformities after upper extremity nerves injuries by evaluation of functional infringements, substantiation and development of the most effective types of tendon-muscular transpositions. Methods of research: clinical, radiological, instrumental, electrophysiological, modeling, biomechanical, statistical. Scientific novelty of the research: the biomechanical substantiation of different types of tendon-muscular transpositions for hand deformities after upper extremity nerves injuries was carried out for the first time; new types of tendon-muscular transpositions were developed and their efficiency was investigated; criteria for functional infringements estimation and rehabilitation potential allowed to demonstrate a degree of disability, medical and social examination and medical rehabilitation of patients are developed and scientifically proved; the typical program of rehabilitation of patients and invalids with hand deformities after upper extremity nerves injuries is developed for the first time; Practical value of the research. Introduction of the biomechanicaly proved differentiated techniques of tendon-muscular transpositions for the hand deformities into the medical practice allowed to improve function of the hand that in turn caused improvement of household and professional adaptation of patients and also had positive rehabilitation results. Use of the developed criteria of rehabilitation potential, functional infringements of the hand in various kinds and degrees and programs of medical rehabilitation of patients and invalids in practice of medical and social expertise allowed to improve parameters and dynamics of disability. Traumatology and orthopedics.
