Essay

The dissertation provides a complex study of the aggravation of the Quebec problem and its influence on the Canadian federal system within 1960-1982. It reveals main reasons for the strengthening of decentralist trends in Quebec and the complication of federal-provincial relations. A special attention is paid to the analysis of the evolution of French-Canadian nationalism and its growth on the basis of separatist tendencies.
