Essay

Studies kinetics of non-isothermal crystallization PNC revealed a slight but system-atic increase of the nucleation barrier for lamellar crystallization of PP in the PNC and PA 6 in the PNC concomitant to stronger restrictions to transport of PP segments across the melt/lamellar crystal interface. Melting endotherms of the neat PP sample and the PP-organosilica nanocomposites and PA 6 can be semi-quantitatively characterized by a simple Debye model with a single temperature- and underlying heating rate-dependent characteristic time.
