Essay

The thesis investigates some fluid and non-standard queueing systems. In the case of systems of the first type the main results (1) provide conditions for existence of steady state; (2) point out explicit form of the stationary distributions (or their characteristic functions); (3) investigate the behaviour of stationary characteristics under heavy or light traffic. Several informative results are given for the M/G/1 system with the LRPT service discipline in heavy traffic. All the results obtained appear to be a quite distinct from the results previously known for the classical queueing systems.
