Essay

The PhD thesis is devoted to the investigation of the microinhomogeneous structure of highly viscous liquids and glasses and the study of the H-bond network in glycerol-like liquids. The clusterization and the nucleation processes are analyzed. Two characteristic functions are introduced in order to describe the main thermodynamic properties. The optical properties and the behavior of the Debye-Waller factor are also considered. It is proved that the fragility of glycerol-like liquids is determined by the properties of the H-bond network.
