In the thesis on the material of Ukrainian and Japanese folklore is made the analysis of the folklore material, which is connected with the cult of ancestors. Considerable attention is given to the development of this theme in the calendar and family rites, is scrupulously made the analysis of mythological means and motives of legends, fairy tales, beliefs at the genetic and comparative level. In the context of cult is examined psychology of ethnosis in their relation to nature as the macrocosm and man as microcosm. It is accentuated on the archetypes of water, tree, grain crops and their functions in the context of the respect of kind, family, and parents. Considerable attention is concentrated on the comparison of the mythological means, inherent and in Japanese and Ukrainian cultures - totem and animistic characters, to symbolism to ritual attribute. The central objective of thesis - to focus attention on the anthropological and historical-mythological connections of the typology of folklore skill and spirituality of two cultures of two ethnosis, to a certain degree of similar is moral and historically.
