The work deals with peculiarities of machining paratellurite and lithium tetraborate acoustooptical single crystals and arrangement of conditions to increase the machining rate, to lower consumption of abrasives and to guaranteed the attainment of the required quality of optical elements.The scientific basis of the work was the concept of a directional variation of the effect of abrasive action of an unbounded abrasive in the machining region and the development, on this basis of efficient processes of machining.
