Essay

New scientific problem has been solved as a result of findings in process of potential energy transformation due to undermining of rock mass that contains hard sandstone layers. A new method was developed to locate areas of geodynamic behavior due to coal seams intensive extraction. This is very important for safety improvement in Ukrainian coal industry. New geodynamic model has been developed that describes intensity of potential energy relief from undermined rock mass. Method for calculation of potential energy transformation intensity has been introduced and tested to provide optimal location of degassing well that has been planned to drill from the surface.
