Essay

The study considers conditions of formation of composite alloys based on fused tungsten carbides, characterized by high resistance to intensive abrasive wear. The pioneering method for investigation of interaction of wear-resistant alloys with well casing pipes was worked out. It is shown that composite alloys used for hardening of the external surface of drill pipe joints decrease their wear. The method was developed for quantitative analysis of structural components of the alloy matrix, and its optimal properties were determined. The process of deoxidation and alloying of the weld pool in plasma cladding of composite alloys was investigated. Composition of filler material and method for automatic plasma cladding of drill pipe joints were developed, and equipment for implementation of the method was built as a result of the investigations conducted within the thesis work. Results of the investigations found a wide application in Ukraine and abroad.
