Essay

In this thesis the theory of HDD data recovery is developed. Defined are the main HDD characteristics and magnetics effects that allow to develop the technologies and means for data recovery and erasure. The methods for visualization of HDD platters stray magnetic fields are developed with resolution sufficient for bit-by-bit examination of recorded data. Proposed, designed and implemented are specialized devices and technologies for data recovery and secure data erasure on HDD.
