Essay

The features of forming and relaxation of the crystalline electric fields arising up at external actions in crystals of lithium niobate are examined in work. It is shown that at illumination of LN crystals by a source of light with a wide spectral composition a pyroelectric effect can substantially influence on homogeneity of the macroscopic electric fieldl. A new mechanism explaining existence of thermoinduced memory of LN crystals is offered.
