Essay

The thesis is devoted to productivity increase of arc welding by application of electromagnetic methods. The thesis contains the systems analysis of theoretical and experimental research of magnetic field action on penetrability of a welding arc. Main principles of dynamic model of the weld pool are developed in welding by an immersed arc. It is proved that the active spot wanders on the front wall and occasionally is at the bottom of the crater. It is shown, that the axis of an arc column does not coincide with the axis of the wire electrode and its direction, primarily, defines an electric field between electrodes. It is proved, that transport of liquid metal from the front wall is carried out by the Ampere force. It is shown, that depth of a crater in the pool is determined by change of a momentum of plasma at its base. An instrument was developed for recording the pool oscillations, the operation of which is based on the principle of transformation of the mechanical oscillations of liquid metal ofthe pool into electrical oscillations using piezoelectric effects. A method of remodeling VDU-504 rectifier is developed providing a pulsed arcing mode. The thesis contains results of studying the pulsing electromagnetic actions on the depth of penetration in manual pulsed-arc welding.
