This dissertation is devoted to the increase of fuel use effectiveness in power and technological units on the basis of autonomous regenerative heaters with the bulk checker. The degree of over-checker spaces influence on indices of thermal operation of autonomous regenerative heater is determined. It is shown that taking into consideration this factor during modelling heat exchange processes in a regenerator provides increase of the accuracy of the heat-carrier heating temperature measurement up to 8-11 %. The dimensionless equations between gas temperature of heating, its change range over the cycle and the maximum temperature of waste smoke gases and working design parameters of the ball-regenerator are established. On the basis of optimization applied to operational and design parameters of ball-regenerators related to minimum capital and operational expenses, the equations of optimum checker height determination for heating top gas and air are received.
