The work was aimed on the study of expression and localization of the product of PTI-1/eEF1A oncogene in human prostate adenocarcinoma tissue and determination of possible functions of PTI-1 in translation. The study of clinical samples revealed the overexpression of eEF1A and/or PTI-1 protein in human prostate adenocarcinoma samples. In the majority of tumor samples, the diffuse cytoplasmic expression pattern of antigen was detected.In vitro study demonstrated almost 6-fold increase of the leucine miss-incorporation in poly(U)-translation product in the presence of delta-eEF1A, homologue of protein product PTI-1 oncogene, in comparison with native eEF1A.
