Dissertation contains a new solution of issues concerning the influence of corticosteroids and antihomotoxic preparations on articular cartilage during its mechanical damage. 37 athletes were examined in clinic. Clinical symptoms and several instrumental methods – roentgenography, MRI, sonography and arthroscopy were studied in these patients. On the basis of carried out experimental-and-clinical examination the methods of treating articular cartilage damage in athletes were elaborated which provided 90,9 % and 89,2 % of positive outcomes during early and late period, respectively
